Love in the High Mountains: A Pre Wedding session at Valle Nuevo National Park - Carmen & Allendy

Let’s tell this story in Allendy’s words:

We were engaged since 2016 and living together since 2017 but the ideal time for getting married never came. In our country it is still illegal for same-sex couples to get married, so we did not put much effort into it. Planning family vacations in October 2019, Carmen looked at me and said, "Why don't we do it this year? Something simple, without telling anyone, just us." One thing led to another and thanks to the help of our family and friends who live in Miami we were able to celebrate our wedding. The dresses were ready in practically three weeks and we did not have to take care of anything.

Certainly, the planets are aligned since coincidentally for this date one of our dearest friends was going to be on vacation in the country and we could have a photoshoot taken by her days before we went to Miami. For us, it was something very special since, in addition to knowing our history, she is also queer, and that creates an even more special bond. We chose one of the most complicated places to take photos but also one of the most beautiful. Climbing up to Valle Nuevo took us almost six hours on a rocky road which would take us to an almost deserted Valley but with magazine scenes. What Pepe did was magical and the photos show it.

Everything was amazing, from the place to date… we got married the same December 31 in Miami Beach and it was as if the whole world was celebrating our special day. It was a very intimate and meaningful ceremony that was not only the day that we formally united our lives but we also demonstrated to the world that for true love there are no barriers or valid laws, it was magical.
