Love Story in Paradise: A Luxury Destination Wedding in Casa de Campo - Desiree & Garrett

ABOUT THE WEDDING

Desiree and Garrett are one of those couples that share an irresistible chemistry that draws the attention of everyone around them. You can tell they live and appreciate every moment together.

They celebrated their love in one of the most gorgeous and exclusive destination wedding locations in The Dominican Republic, Casa de Campo. The venue was Villa Cacique, which has a vibrant and contemporary style. The garden complements the house beautifully with a waterfall fountain - where the ceremony took place during sunset.

When we first met on Zoom, she expressed the desire to have photos that represented everyone’s personality just as they are and documenting the day as it naturally unfolded. She also loves film-like photos that look organic with the feel of “vintage” and those blurry black-and-white images that you all know I love! We were meant to work together.

Beyond the designed decor, what set this wedding apart was the profound love and unity that enveloped the couple. As a photographer, being embraced and made to feel an integral part of their celebration was a heartwarming experience. It was a beautiful demonstration of love, support, and unity.

The day began in a room filled with excitement and anticipation as everyone got ready. Bridesmaids and groomsmen were busy helping the bride and groom prepare for their day. Notably, Garrett wore a suit from "The Grotto" that had a cute design with pictures of their beloved dog, "Rambo."

There was laughter and chatter in the air, and a spontaneous moment of joy occurred as bridesmaids and groomsmen, brought together by celebration, paraded around the hallways and rooms, dancing and sharing Aguardiente shots and dancing in the hallways. Desiree's Colombian heritage added an extra layer of happiness to the day with her family's warmth and cultural vibrancy.

Desiree had a heartfelt moment when she gave her mother an engraved handkerchief with a lovely Spanish poem, "Yo tenía un botoncito," which was a cherished lullaby from her childhood.

The bride's emotional first look happened in the Villa's main living room, where she shared the moment with the bridal party, her brothers, and finally, her father, making it special for everyone. Garrett, however, had to wait until the ceremony to see his radiant bride.

The wedding ceremony was set in a magical place with a grand water fountain at its center. As the sun began to set, it was time for a memorable celebration of love.

The bride, a vision of elegance, and the groom dashing in a black tuxedo, exchanged loving and emotional glances. Their eyes reflected the happiness and excitement of the moment. When the officiant declared them officially married, they sealed their vows with a kiss and walked hand in hand down the aisle with applauses from their friends and family.

The couple stole a private moment on the dance floor as the sun dipped, creating a magical ambiance before the evening's festivities began.

The wedding reception was a lively and emotional celebration, showing how love can bring people together and create lasting memories. It marked the start of the couple's new journey in an unforgettable way.
